Miranda Seniors Living — Refurbishment

- St Basils Homes
Engaged at a critical juncture, one of Forge’s first priorities on this project was to re-establish control — realigning the scope with the original project objectives following a period of scope creep and inadequate project governance. Getting a project back on track requires as much skill as delivering one from the outset, and it was the foundation on which everything that followed was built.

Project details
The project involved a major refurbishment of St Basil’s co-located 100-bed residential aged care facility and 40-unit independent living development in Miranda, NSW — a live environment with vulnerable residents that demanded careful planning and sensitive delivery throughout.
The scope was broad: extension of dining rooms, refurbishment of all common areas, introduction of a library, games rooms, al-fresco dining areas and a sensory garden, provision of air conditioning to all bedrooms, waterproofing remediation works, and the installation and commissioning of a backup diesel generator. Together, the works modernised the facility’s offering, restored its market relevance and enabled the delivery of a premium standard of aged care and retirement living.
