Built on a historic brickworks site in Eastwood, this development called for something more than conventional residential delivery, it required a response that could transform former industrial land into a contemporary community while respecting the layers of history embedded in the site.

Project details
The outcome brings together a new 50-apartment building across six levels with two levels of basement parking, eight townhouses forming part of a sensitive readaptation of the existing brick kiln, and the refurbishment of the kiln itself into a museum — all set within considered landscape works that tie the precinct together.
Forge managed design development, builder procurement and construction management across the full scope, alongside extensive consultation with Parramatta Council and heritage groups. Balancing planning requirements, heritage obligations and community expectations across a project of this nature requires patience, expertise and a commitment to getting the outcome right — for the client, the site and the people who will call it home.
