The Woolstores, Shed 72 — Subdivision and Makegood
- Commercial
- Heritage
- RF Corval
Originally constructed during World War II to store wool unable to be exported during wartime, The Woolstores is one of only 18 remaining structures of its kind — a heritage-listed precinct within RF Corval’s portfolio that demanded a careful and considered approach to any new works.

Project details
Two tenancy projects were delivered within the precinct, adapting existing warehouse spaces to accommodate new commercial uses while preserving the character of the original timber framework throughout. The scope included construction of a new inter-tenancy stair, upgrades to existing stairways, lighting and mechanical services enhancements, installation of a subdivision wall across two levels, and removal and make-good works following the departure of the previous tenant. Council approvals for tenancy subdivision were secured as part of the process.
Integrating new construction within a live, fully tenanted heritage environment and working within an original timber structure of this age and significance, required precision and respect for the building in equal measure. The result adapts the spaces for contemporary commercial use without compromising what makes The Woolstores worth preserving.
